Yes. Your secret key is processed entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. It is never transmitted to our servers. You can open browser DevTools → Network tab while generating a code; you will see zero outgoing requests.
A 2FA secret key is a Base32-encoded string (e.g. JBSWY3DPEHPK3PXP) shared between your account provider and your authenticator. It is used to compute time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) per RFC 6238.
No. 2FA Fast stores nothing on our servers. The optional Save feature stores your labels and secrets in your browser's localStorage, it never leaves your device and is not shared with us.
TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) generates a 6-digit code every 30 seconds using your secret key and the current time. Both your authenticator and the website compute the same code, so the server can verify you without the code ever being transmitted over the network.
